Reward Your Body, Don't Punish It

Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it.

We are taught, day in and day out, to devote endless amounts of time to 'improving' our bodies in hopes of attaining a certain weight, size or shape. We are constantly encouraged to workout in order to change ourselves, not because we want to reward our bodies for the incredible things they do for us every single day. The gym is seen as a torture chamber by far too many, because it is viewed as the place to go in order to punish oneself. We are told to workout for hours on end so that we can grow to 'love' ourselves, only once we begin to see the physical changes we were aiming for - not a second before. What we often forget is that self-love is not dependant on our size or weight, but rather on the beauty in our hearts. You do not need to enter the gym with a goal of making any physical change, or even with a goal at all. The only thing required for a workout is a peaceful mind, grateful heart and strong soul. Our betterment is not determined by the changes we see in a mirror, but rather in the light behind our eyes and the joy in our smile.

Workout to instill confidence in your veins, happiness in your heart and vitality in your bones. Reward your body with the movement it craves. And most importantly, treat your body with the respect it so desperately deserves.
